Chemistry: The Next Generation

Chemistry:The Next Generation (C:TNG) is an Aimhigher chemistry outreach initiative run and led by the Royal Society of Chemistry in partnership with 12 Higher Education Institutions, 3 industries, 2 sector skills councils and Aimhigher practitioners. The project is promoting the excitement of the chemical sciences and the career opportunities available to school and college students with no clear heritage of Higher Education. In 18 months over 10,000 students have taken part in a variety of subject-linked aspiration raising activities in three pilot regions (the East Midlands, the Northwest and London). Feedback from the events suggests that around 70 per cent are now more likely to consider going on to higher education to study Chemistry or the chemical sciences.
