Guidelines for Funding
The following is a guideline to the Salters' Company policy on charitable giving.
1.
The Salters' Company Charitable Trust makes donations to a wide
spread charitable sector.
2.
Consideration to funding smaller charities where their contribution
would make a real difference is given a higher priority. Donations
to large major charities are not normally considered.
3.
As far as possible charities selected should be Nationwide in
their application except for those connected with the City of
London where special consideration will be given providing the
charity falls within the other criteria.
4.
Members of the Livery and Freedom are encoraged to take an interest
in those charities which are supported.
5.
As a matter of general policy, the Company will give consideration
to a small charity where a member of the Livery or Freedom is
personally involved.
6.
The Company's flagship charity is the Salters' Institute which
promotes science education and further funding to similar organisations
to the Salters' Charities is unlikely.
