The Salters' Company Today
The Salters' Institute
The Salters' Company
both cares about and contributes to the community at large and
in particular is one of the country's most respected champions
of improvements in science education. Please visit the Salters'
Institute for further information about the educational
activities. Another project initiated by the Company includes
the Salters' City Foyer Project for the Homeless which was launched
in 1994 and is located in Smithfield. 'The Salters' City Foyer',
stated Alderman Paul Newall, Lord Mayor of London in 1994, 'will
contribute enormously to the quality of life for young people
seeking work, training and housing opportunities in the City.
The involvement of the business community will encourage a positive
environment in which young people become motivated and self-reliant.'
The Watford Almshouse
The Company also administers a number of charities including
the almshouses at Watford and Maidenhead, and makes annual donations
to over eighty national charities. For further details please
refer to the Charitable Activities
section.
