Salters' Graduate Prizes

Selection Procedure
The selection committee are looking for candidates who will ultimately be able to occupy leading positions in the UK Chemical and allied industries. Candidates are expected to show some knowledge of the current Chemical Industry and of the need for changing technology in the future. In reflecting these aims, the selection committee look particularly for:

Intellectual ability
Initiative
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to enlist the co-operation of others whether colleagues or subordinates
A concern for the future of the Chemical Industry


Prize notices are sent in mid-December to the heads of University Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Departments who are invited to nominate candidates. Many universities then undergo their own selection procedure before nominating a candidate.

The closing date for receipt of nominations in 2008 is:
