Teacher Fellowships
About
The Fellowships
In 2006 former Salters' Teaching
Awards winners and medallists
were invited to apply for the
first-ever Salters' Teacher
Fellowships at the National
Science Learning Centre.
These Fellowships are designed
to enable the Institute to continue
to foster the talent of former
Award Winners and to give them
a period of study at the National
Science Learning Centre - a
kind of 'mini-sabbatical'.
Applicants for a Salters' Teacher
Fellowship were asked to identify
a project on which they wished
to work, to benefit the teaching
of chemistry at their own and
other schools. After the
recipients were selected they
spent a period of 10 days -
which could be taken all at
once, or spread over a number
of sessions - at the National
Science Learning Centre where
they received specialist support
from the National Science Learning
Centre's academic and technical
staff and its resources.
The
Salters' Chemistry Teaching
Awards
At the present time the Institute
has no plans to continue with
the The Salters' Chemistry Teaching
Awards.
